Our history
1997-2005: The University of Tropical Agriculture Foundation established in 1997 by Dr. Thomas Reg Preston; and registered in Cambodia as UTA-Cambodia at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs (2002-2005). The key activities of UTA-Cambodia were research in the fields of livestock and agriculture, insects, aquaculture, renewable energy, crop-livestock, sustainable farming, waste management, and implemented master programs
2006-2017: The Center for Livestock and Agriculture Development (CelAgrid) was localized from UTA-Cambodia and registered as local NGO on January 24th, 2006 at the Ministry of Interior. The key activities of CelAgrid were research and development in the fields of livestock and agriculture, insects, aquaculture, renewable energy, crop-livestock, waste management, sustainable farming, and community development.
2018-present: The Livestock Development for Community Livelihood Organization (LDC) renewed registration of CelAgrid as local non-profit organization on November 26th, 2018 at the Ministry of Interior, after the Law on Associations and Non-governmental Organizations. The key activities of LDC are research and development in the fields of livestock and agriculture, edible insects, aquaculture, crop-livestock, zoonotic and foodborne diseases, household food nutrition, climate change, and community development.

Started in 2003
CelAgrid has an office at the Ecological Farm in Pras Theat village, Rolous
commune, Kandal Stung district, Kandal province. In Phnom Penh, Heifer
International-Cambodia allowed us to use their office space and facilities. In
2005, a branch office was established in Pursat provincial town to facilitate
the operation of Food Security Initiative Fund (FSIF/CIDA/HPI). Two new branch
offices will be established; one in Sras Takoun village, Sanglong commune,
Treang district and other in Kus commune, Tramkak district, Takeo province.
CelAgrid now has an office in Phnom Penh in January 2007. The new office in
Phnom Penh will equip with 24 hours access to internet allow researchers and
scientists to get their references and communicating with supervisors abroad
when writing papers/articles. Having the office in Phnom Penh, the office and
seminar rooms at the centre will be mainly used for project activities such as
training, research and community development components and Eco-Farm.
